About the site

Why this site exists

The internet is full of recipes and short on reasons. This site exists to explain the reasoning behind techniques, the thresholds you can measure, and the equipment you genuinely need.

01

What we do

Each guide takes one subject all the way through: a technique, or a group of equipment. The goal is that the second time you cook something, the result is not down to luck.

Guides contain decision tables as much as step lists: what happens at which temperature, at what thickness the method changes, and when not to do it at all.

02

Product recommendations

We recommend specifications, not brands. Instead of "brand X’s skillet" we say "base at least 4 mm, one-piece cast handle, 10–12 inches". Brands change; criteria do not.

Prices are published as budget bands rather than exact figures, with the date they were compiled stated on the page. Shop links go to a retailer search rather than one listing, so you can see stock and pricing for yourself.

This site carries no affiliate links, no advertising and no sponsored content. If that ever changes, it will be stated on this page and at the top of the affected guides on the day it changes.

03

Food safety

Internal temperatures given for red meat are a matter of preference. The figures for chicken (165 °F / 74 °C) and ground meat (160 °F / 71 °C) are safety thresholds, not preferences, and the guides mark that distinction every time.

This site does not provide medical or official food safety advice. People who are immunocompromised, pregnant or cooking for small children should follow their local health authority’s guidance.

04

Languages

The site is published in Turkish and English. The two are not word-for-word translations but the same content adapted to each audience’s units and shopping habits: °C and Turkish lira on the Turkish side, °F/°C and inches on the English side.

05

Corrections

If you find an error in a guide, it can be corrected; fixing content errors comes before publishing anything new.

The site is published under a brand name rather than a personal byline. Since no personal data is collected, there is no comment system or account system either.
